Hello, and thanks for visiting my website!

I am a pediatric ear, nose and throat (ENT) specialist in New York City, with office hours in northern New Jersey as well. This site provides information about my practice, as well as educational material about common childhood ENT conditions. New patients may save time by filling out the registration forms in advance, and bringing them to the first appointment. You can also book an appointment online, to save even more time!

I welcome general questions about these problems from any site visitors, although I cannot make a specific recommendation about anyone that I have not seen. I have been doing my best to answer these questions for thousands of online correspondents from around the world since 1998.

Families of established patients in my practice can also communicate with me through this site, or download educational materials and office forms, including our notice of privacy practices. While I encourage online contact, my telephone line is answered 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Please feel free to call if you need to contact me urgently.

I hope that this site is helpful for you and your family!

During these difficult times, I am doing my best to care for my patients while limiting the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Given the most recent severe shelter-in-place advisories from federal and state authorities, we are doing telemedicine only for office visits starting March 25th - hopefully the will not be for very long. While I can’t examine the interior of the ear or the nose in this way, many patients find that this is still helpful in many situations. If you would like to schedule such a visit, just call my office. Of course, I am always available to my patients for brief questions and concerns by phone or email, as before, without the need for a formal telemedicine appointment. Furthermore, we can deal with true ENT emergencies if necessary, but we are doing our best to minimize the need for anyone to leave their homes during the peak of the pandemic in New York City.

We are not able to diagnose or treat patients suspected of having COVID-19. If there is a new onset of a fever, cough or shortness of breath, you should contact your primary care doctor . As you probably know, lab testing is very limited in availability, and the proper treatment for the majority of cases is to monitor at home and self quarantine for two weeks. Patients needing medical care are generally those with severe pneumonia and respiratory failure, or those at risk for this complication due to underlying health issues.
This online assessment tool is a very useful way to use the CDC guidelines to help you determine your own (or a family member's) risk, and to take appropriate steps.

I know that all this makes an already difficult situation more difficult, but I am committed to the health of my patients, their families, my staff and our community. During the near future, we all need to do everything we can to limit ANY travel from home to only dire emergencies that require surgical or other physical intervention. For the short term, we should be able to manage almost all ENT issues without requiring office visits.

I appreciate your working with me!
